How to implement user defined default folder paths ?
The machine is an Win XP SP3 (offline).
I am trying to tweak it, so it becomes an offline multimedia box with several user accounts.
Using regedit and navigating to:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion\Explorer\Shell Folders\
one can change the default path for (in my case):
C:\...\My videos ----> D:\...\Videos
C:\...\My Pictures ----> D:\...\Pictures
C:\...\My Templates ----> D:\...\Templates
However it seems changes are effected generically and identically for all users.
My 2 in 1 question is:
I want to do this independently for every user on that multi-account machine.
Is this possible and how ?

Try loading the hive for the users specifically, refer to this post for more:
[TIP] Loading Or Unloading Hive In Registry Editor - Kapil Sparks
Then manipulate the registry as usual. When you're done, unload hive. Reboot and see if that helps.
Hope this helps, Good luck

I must admit that I'm not quite sure if I follow the issue...
It would seem to me that, if the users are set as restricted accounts and not admin accounts, the folders in question should be restricted to just their stuff by default. I really don't see why registry edits should be needed.
