To add to Kapil's great idea, it will not hurt to also have a 2nd backup/restore routine. For a 2nd backup routine, using something similar to Macrium Reflect or Acronis True Image, one makes a bootable DVD or USB stick. At least once a month if not more often: attach two external HDs [USB ports], boot the DVD or USB stick; make at least one OS partition and at least one data partition image. Check your images by trying to restore a folder or a couple of files.

actually, windows built-in tool is able to backup data, but the image file created by this will take up large space. so i have used AOMEI Backupper Standard (free) to backup data. it can support automatic backup . you can have a try. hope what i offer can give you a hand.

You've used AOMEI, how to you think AOMEI and EaseUs Todo Backup? or Paragon? Which one is easier to use
