Default Office programs and apps crash when you open them in Windows 10

If your Office programs and apps crash when you try to open them after upgrading to Windows 10, then this post may help you.

    Says Microsoft:

If you use Avast Antivirus version 10.3.2225, and you upgrade to Windows 10, your Office apps may crash when you try to open them. If you're running Avast, try installing their latest R4 release, which resolves the issue in most cases.
So if you are using Avast, you need to update it to its latest version right away.

If this does not help see: Office documents do not open after upgrading to Windows 10

See this post if you receive a Microsoft Office program has stopped working message.

Windows 10 doesn’t pin the Office apps to the Start menu or the Taskbar by default, but there are a few ways to find and open Office applications from the Start screen and taskbar in Windows 10.
