Default copy vista to a new harddisk ?

    hi !

iīve copied both vista & W7 to a new disk, using knoppix.

both Vista & W7 boot normally and i get the normal login screen,
but then i see "creating desktop", and then after maybe 2 minutes i only get a blue screen.

itīs no BSOD, i can move the mouse pointer on the screen, and the keyboard also works.

pressing Ctrl-Alt-Delete gives me the usual screen with options to log off etc.

i just canīt get my normal desktop.

    any ideas ?

You have copied Vista and Windows 7 ??? or Installed ???
If copied, I can't say it works but you can try to repair bootloader using Windows Vista or Windows 7 disc.

    hi !

    OH ?

i thought i described the problem very well, please read my post above again.

one thing to add, if i login to my user account, the above doesnīt happen,
instead i get an errormessage "cannot load userprofile" (if i remember correctly).

any ideas before i reinstall both Vista & W7 ?

Tried Safe Mode? If that works maybe you can do a re-install over the current installation only fixing any system files that might have been affected due to the move.
