    Arrow Forgot Windows Password

Yesterday, I got some Pm from gbrowne. I don't know to how many members he has sent PM.

    Well his Question is:
Your help would be greatly appreciated right now. I was just given a desk top computer by my friend but he does not remember his old username or password so I am un able to use it. Is there anyway for us to override this in order for us to set it up just for me?
    Solution:
    I Forgot My Administrator Password!

gbrowne Please remember, Don't send any Pm. Just open a Thread & ask your question .

    Thanks

Hmm ... thanks for putting this up at the forum. While, it may or may not have been the case here, such PMs are also sent to learn ways of cracking other peoples PC passwords.

Best to offer generic directions. Recover From A Lost Password in Vista. may help.

Recover forgotten passwords stored by Internet Explorer also come in handy some day

Higly unusual for any member to do this. I have never heard of it happening before. I am sure that this will be noted by Administration. I would have ignored it, as any questions should be posted. Thanks for putting the warning out

I would like to introduce you a very good windows password recovery tool . BUT IT IS NOT FREE.

It not only supports XP, 2003, 2000, and NT, I have personally tested it with Vista Home Premium and Ultimate. It works perfectly to reset any local user account to a blank password

You can use the ISO to burn a boot CD. Follow these instructions:

    1. Download Windows Password Recovery Tool 2.0 ISO file
    2. Burn to a CD using a CD burning tool such as Nero or Roxio or MagicISO
    3. Insert CD into drive and reboot.
    4. You may have to select an option in the BIOS to get the computer to boot from the CD.

Booting up and clearing a password takes a minute or two works like a charm.

    Hi

Windows XP Login Recovery - Window password recovery within minutes.

    1. Run image.exe and it will prompt you to “Insert floppy to write”.
    2. Insert a blank floppy disk and click OK.
    3. Remove the disk when it’s done.

    then

    1. Insert the disk THEN turn the computer on.
    2. Text will flick across the computer screen then the computer should switch off by itself. (Takes about two minutes)
    3. Remove the disk. (The computer will not have been changed in any way and will work normally again when the disk is removed)

I was about to suggest the same. had used the same in my early XP days and they took 48 hours to send my password.

BTW MS Diagnostics and Recovery Toolset 6.0 helps Reset forgotten Windows Account Passwords. Ypu may try that too.
