One of the key features of windows 7 ultimate was the fact that it could run a so called "windows XP" mode; but what about windows vista, is there any virtualization for vista? Because I REALLY need it.

You might try to install a Virtual Machine, this one VMLite - An alternative XP Mode is available for instance, and run XP into it .
Hope it helps

^as leo said, use Virtual PC software from Microsoft or Virtual Box from Sun Microsystems.
VMWare is the king of virtualization software but it is paid.
