Default can not hibernate in windows ...

Can someone tell me why i no longer have the option to hibernate my laptop?

When I go to the start menu - i can restart, sleep or shut down. Hibernate used to be there - have no clue what happened...

    Thanks for any help.

I also lost a TON of music - it was there one day in a folder and then I went ot look for something and its now gone (i of course didnt touch it - no one else has access to my computer)

Dont know if this is vista related or not - but again if anyone can give me an idea of what to do that would be great!!!

The hiberantion problem could be because you lost your hibernation file. Open an elevated Command Prompt (run as admin) and type or paste powercfg /hibernate on

For your lost pictures, you may be able to recover them from a previous restore point (shadow) - if you have any far enough back. Run Shadow Explorer, navigate to your pictures folder, right click on it and "Export" them back into your system. If you need further guidance on how to use Shadow Explorer, I once made a How To video that you find here.

^^ type cmd in start menu and when it appears under programs just right click and select "Run as administrator"
