Default screensaver does not start - monitor blanking not working right

hi all, i noticed my screensaver doesnt start anymore, no matter how long i set it to wait, 1 min, 10mins, same for monitor turn off.

it works in the control panel's display applet when i test it but it doesn't start on its own the normal way.

need some help to fix this...

Are you using a wireless / optical mouse? If so, that could be a possible reason. Try disconnecting and see if it helps.

Pls also see: The screen saver does not start after you install a wireless pointing device

hello Andy, thank you, eventhough i don't have a wireless mouse or keyb as described in the link you gave, but i took a chance on uninstalling the newly released v3 driver on the Razer website. and so far it seems to have helped.

i have a Razer gaming mouse (optical not wireless) and i removed the v3.00 driver that came out a couple weeks ago, its now back to the default ms driver v6.0.6001.18

And it seems to have fixed the thing. i'll do a couple more tests of the v2 and v3 drivers and if need be i'll tell Razer about my findings.

    thank you for the help

I have few questions for you...

    Did you set Blank screensaver?????

Check the Turn off display settings (for your Power Plan)????
Go to - Control Panel >> Hardware and Sound >> Power Options

    and

    Install latest graphics device driver....
