Desktop "Sort by" menu grayed out
Can somebody please help me. I have windows 7 unlimited 32 bit and the desktop sort by menu is grayed out.Also auto arange icons and align icons to grid is to
Any help would be greatly appreciated

In explorer do you still have the sort by menu or is it specific to the desktop?

You might have Unchecked Show desktop icons... Check this again....

Thanks it was that.
But even though the "Show desktop icons" were unchecked , icons were still displayed.

That may be your iconcache.db is corrupted and was "holding on" to the previous settings.
If you want to reset the icon cache, GoTo: C:\Users\Your User Name\AppData\Local and delete the iconcache.db file. It will rebuild itself.
