    Unhappy Missing msvcr100.dll File Windows Vista Machine

    Installed "Sqldeveloper" on windows vista machine (version 64)
    When I go to run the program from the home sqldeveloper home directory of:
    c:/sqldeveloper/sqldeveloper.exe
    I get the following two messages:

    1) This application has failed to start because msvcr100.dll was not found.
    Re-installing this application may fix this problem
    2) Unable to launch the java virtual machine located at path
    c:\sqldeveloper\jdk\jre\bin\server\jvm.dll

    I then did a set path to see if msvcr100.dll was in any of the directories that were in my path and it was not.

    I did a set path:
    Set Path
    Path=C:\oraclexe\app\oracle\product\11.2.0\server\ bin;;C:\ProgramData\Oracle\Java\javapath;C:\Window s\system32;C:\Windows;C:\Windows\system32\wbem;C:\ Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Windows Live;C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Windows Live;C:\Program Files (x86)\PHP;C:\PROGRA~2\COMMON~1\ULEADS~1\MPEG;;C:\P rogram Files (x86)\jZip;C:\Windows\System32\WindowsPowerShell\v 1.0;C:\Program Files (x86)\Windows Live\Shared;C:\Program Files (x86)\WinMerge;C:\Program Files (x86)\MySQL\MySQL Utilities 1.3.4;C:\Program Files (x86)\MySQL\MySQL Utilities 1.3.4\
    PATHEXT=.COM;.EXE;.BAT;.CMD;.VBS;.VBE;.JS;.JSE;.WS F;.WSH;.MSCb

    I have copied msvcr100.dll into the following directory: C:\Windows\System32

    Directory of C:\Windows\System32

    11/16/2014 03:51 PM 773,968 msvcr100.dll

    As I try to run sqldeveloper again I continue to get the same two error messages.
    I run the program from the home sqldeveloper home directory of:
    c:/sqldeveloper/sqldeveloper.exe

    1) This application has failed to start because msvcr100.dll was not found.
    Re-installing this application may fix this problem
    2) Unable to launch the java virtual machine located at path
    c:\sqldeveloper\jdk\jre\bin\server\jvm.dll

    I also have copied msvcr100.dll into C:\sqldeveloper\sqldeveloper\bin

    Directory of C:\sqldeveloper\sqldeveloper\bin

    11/16/2014 03:51 PM 773,968 msvcr100.dll

    I still get the same error messages

    Thank You

    Finally can reply from home computer. When my Avast Anti-virus generates a very similar message, I have to uninstall and reinstall A A-V. Then, of course, I have to reConfigure and reSet all that stuff within A A-V.
