yesterday i finally managed to install IE9 after several hours of hard work.
32-bit works without any problems, but 64-bit is very weird.
at first it started, showing "not responding", then after a few seconds it stopped.
after uninstalling & installing several times, and having changed "internet options" (disabling all add-ons) i finally got it working.
but it accepted only external (http) URLīs, when i tried to open my own local homepage (file:///home.htm), i got some weird errormessages in the tabs.
so i saved a new fresh webpage and then tried to enter the local URL in the addressbar,
and to my big surprise it worked.
so i copied my own local homepage to the name of the "new" page, and managed to open it.
i then tried copying and renaming a few local pages just to see if i could get an explanation why it was so weird.
and now it doesnīt start at all, it runs for a few seconds then exits.
i have searched for answers, and it seems iīm not the only one having problems.
i have now managed to run IE9-64.
i previously disabled all add-ons, but it still didnīt run.
but after having done some more searching on the web i found the solution:
open the W7-main menu, enter internet explorer in the search-window, select "Internet Explorer (no add-ons)"
the shortcut has "-extoff" added to the commandline.
now IE9-64 runs, but itīs terribly sloooow, just a little bit faster than FF 3.6.13
IE9-32 on the other hand is VERY fast, itīs faster than FF 4b12.
