    Default Microsoft removes PCMCIA and IEEE 1394 drivers from Windows 10

    To help reduce the overall footprint of Windows 10, rarely used drivers like PCMCIA and IEEE 1394 have been removed from the product, reports Technet Blogs.

    Anyone that still needs such drivers can download them from Windows Update.

    Microsoft has officially discontinued support for Firewire (IEEE1394) with the introduction of Windows 10 OS, but there is a workaround that many SPOT customers have used successfully. It involves installing the legacy FireWire drivers into the Windows 10 OS.
