Default Laptop in endless boot loop after upgrading to Windows 10

I let windows 10 install via update, seemed to install ok until time to boot for the first time. I get an endless boot loop, no f5 or f8 menu. nothing seems to help, removed HDD from laptop and put it in a reader, attached to desktop and it said I would have to format before use. This is not an option. Must repair install somehow. Any Ideas?

If your computer gets into an endless reboot loop, try to get into Safe Mode or access Advanced Boot Options. Here you can open a command prompt windows or system restore or perform an Automatic Repair.

Also see if you find something useful here:
Failure configuring Windows updates. Reverting changes.
Windows 8 fails to boot; Automatic Repair, Refresh, Reset PC also fails
