Default Start Menu doesn't work in Windows 10. So how to open PowerShell?

Anand: I read your help article called "Start Menu does not open or not working in Windows 10." After upgrading to W10 from W7.1, the Start button worked for about a week and then stopped. All Windows 10 icons in the task bar do not left-click, some will right-click with results. I went to Windows Support and found forums with over 30 pages of complaints and suggestions, and nothing there works. It looks like MS acknowledges that there is a problem, but no ETA.

I followed the instructions and ran both item 1, 2, and 3 to no solution. I could not run item 4 (PowerShell) as it requires my right-clicking on the Start button and the Search option doesn't work (the Run option does).

    What do you suggest?

    Thanks.

    Default

Open Task Manager > File > Run new task.

In the box which opens, write powershell.exe. Also check the Create this task with administrative privileges check-box and press OK.

An elevated PowerShell prompt will open.

Now you can run the command.

    Hope it helps you.
