Default Help with securing Google Chrome Passwords

Hi. I'm new to the Windows Club. I saw a posting on securing your Passwords on Google Chrome. If I were to save the Passwords in Chrome, are they still easily hackable? I would like to set up Google Password Manager or find an easy way to secure the passwords. I normally just type them in.
I tried to use Google Password Manager and followed the directions, but when I clicked at the end, it took me back to the Chrome page. It said to click on the "Red "Flag". I did not see a flag. I then saw another way to set it up. I have a Lenovo Desktop with Windows 10.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks, ptfitzy

It is better to use a Password Manager software than to store passwords in your browser.

Can you go to passwords.google.com and sign-in with your primary Google account which you use often and tell us what happened?
