Default Will Vista Ultimate 32bit be on upgrade path for 7 64bit

I downloaded Windows 7 32bit but if Vista Ultimate 32bit will be on the upgrade path for Windows 7 64bit I would like to give that a try.

^ First of all I don't suggest upgrade from Vista to Windows 7 as Windows 7 is still in BETA stage and you may encounter some problems. Install it on a separate partition.

If you really want to upgrade from Vista 32-bit to Windows 7 64-bit then make sure of the two things:

    1.You have Vista 32-bit with SP1

2.You read the below KB article(actually the KB article is for XP to Vista upgrade but you can read to get good idea):
Installation choices for 64-bit consumer versions of Windows Vista

Sorry, I was not clear. I meant after all the beta's are done and I have to pay for a upgrade DVD.

I already have Windows 7 32bit installed to play with, but when it comes time to pay for the retail version my upgradable license is for 32 bit Vista Ultimate. Will that license be good for a upgrade to 64bit?

32bit - 64bit i not recommened. I guess it won't be allowed either. You would do yourself more good by doing a clean install.
