    Question Error in Windows 7 Website - This page contains both secure and nonsecure items

    while trying to open windows 7 website in IE8 it displays the following error message........(non secure item on MS Windows7 Site???)

    This is not an error message as such it just tells you that anyone can see some of the information on the page. In IE8 you can got to tools and click in private if you are worried

    Its a security feature in IE. If you wish to disable it :

    Internet Explorer > Tools > Internet Options > Security tab > Internet zone > Custom level > Display Mixed Content > Disable > Apply > OK > Exit.

    As a general rule non secure items are those that can be read by everyone and secure items are those that require personal details from you. This page contains both because it gives general information, which can be non secure but when you download you are required to give your email and password which is secure. A completely secure page as a rule will have a padlock at the right hand bottom

    I only ever get that message when i open my Email log-in page, and it's a pain! Thanks for posting how to disable it

    If you use Windows mail or live mail you shouldn't get the message either
