28th February 2009, 14:47 #1 Mounting network place in Windows 7
in vista, i was able to mount an ftp network place in windows explorer. windows 7 doesn't like that.
i was also able to put ftp://ftp.foo.bar in the IE address bar, and a windows explorer window would appear. that doesn't happen either
am i doing something wrong? is this enhanced security in 7? is there something i can do to remedy the situarion?

i get this error

I tried it on my W7. It worked. Try following the exact steps (as Admin) as mentioned in the link and let us know at what stage you receive the error.

Its valid known BUG in Windows 7 and already submitted to Microsoft.
I stand corrected. While I was able to create the folder yesterday in W7, when I tried to enter the username and password today, I too got the same error. Yes it is a known issue. Pls see discussion at Technet .
I see Ramesh has just said the same thing.
glad it wasn't just me, or some obscure IE setting, or a firewall rule, or something else.
i really hate using a dos window, ftp, bin, has, get, put :-)
