Default Need script to run when windows 7 x64 shuts down

    Hi,

I am trying to run a script when my windows 7 x64 home premium shuts down.

I hoped that the Ultimate Windows Tweaker utility would have this feature/facility, but it does not.

Has anyone a solution to run scripts in Home Preimum. The local Group policy feature has kindly been removed on this edition

    Thanks
    Dave

I think you have starter edition, thats why you are not able to access Group Policy.

You may want to look at it : Windows shutdown script.

But since you are not able to access Policy Editor a 3rd party tool would be good for you. May be this would help Automate Shutdown Tasks - Shutdown Manager and Tools!

    thanks @altreed nice idea !!!
btw open Registry Editor (regedit.exe) and go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Wind ows\System\Scripts\Logoff

If the subkeys don't exist, then create theme and once you done....

Create String Values like 1,2,3....so on as much as you want to execute scripts and set the path of scripts in their values.

    I hope it helps....

BTW FYI- Windows home edition doesn't have Group Policy etc, it has not been wiped from home edition.
