Default How to open ports in Windows?

    Hello all,

I'm basically having problems with certain ports which are needed for playing a multiplayer game. Here're the list of ports that need to be opened:

ImageShack® - Online Photo and Video Hosting

PS: Please see the above image... Was getting error " You are currently not allowed to post URLs.". So, used hxxp.

I'm on a dialup connection.. Yes yes I know dialups aren't made for multiplayer but still I was able to play a session or two with this connection.. So, I think there's still some hope. I am not good at networking. So, please help me open these ports guys. I really really want to play this game..

Can't afford to buy a broadband now..

    Thanks!

    Hello there,

Most of times we need to open the ports in Router in your case it's Dialup which we don't need to open. I think it should be just the Windows Firewall which we need to open.

Go to Start and under search type in CMD
Right click and run as administrator

Then type in one by one

netsh firewall set portopening TCP 55674 "TCPPort1"
netsh firewall set portopening TCP 12000 "TCPPort2"
netsh firewall set portopening TCP 7917 "TCPPort3"
netsh firewall set portopening TCP 12001 "TCPPort4"
netsh firewall set portopening TCP 9100 "TCPPort5"
netsh firewall set portopening TCP 44301 "TCPPort6"
netsh firewall set portopening TCP 45301 "TCPPort7"
netsh firewall set portopening TCP 49928 "TCPPort8"
netsh firewall set portopening TCP 55674 "TCPPort9"
netsh firewall set portopening UDP 55674 "UPPort1"
netsh firewall set portopening UDP 12000 "UDPPort2"
netsh firewall set portopening UDP 7917 "UDPPort3"
netsh firewall set portopening UDP 12001 "UDPPort4"
netsh firewall set portopening UDP 9100 "UDPPort5"
netsh firewall set portopening UDP 44301 "UDPPort6"
netsh firewall set portopening UDP 45301 "UDPPort7"
netsh firewall set portopening UDP 49928 "UDPPort8"
netsh firewall set portopening UDP 55674 "UDPPort9"

You might get a warning which you can ignore it. You could also manually add them follow thing article Open a port in Windows Firewall
