    Default remaining windows rearm count 2

    Read the article: "How to view the Licensing Status and Activation ID of your Windows OS with slmgr.vbs" and tested it on my pc.

    One thing that caught my curiosity was this line: "remaining windows rearm count 2".

    Googled it but I can't say I really understood it, so I hope someone can explain this to me in the "For Dummies" way.

    I'm not sure whether this qualifies as 'for dummies'

    When you first install Windows you have 30 days 'before' you need to activate it. So if you are using a trial version of the operating system you only have 30 days before you have to decide whether to buy it and activate it or remove it from your PC. What a lot of people do not know is that you can actually 'extend' that period to 120 days (in 30 day segments) by re-arming the activation. You can find out more about this by checking out the article on my website: 14. Extend Windows 7 Trial For 120 Days Without Having To Activate The re-arm that you are seeing means that, had you not activated the system, you would have had a further 90 days grace simply by using the re-arm command.

    The re-arms works as:

    0 = First 30 days
    1 = Second 30 days
    2 = Third 30 days
    3 = Fourth 30 days

    Thanks, J_B_MPV

    Nope, that was not for "Dummies" I still don't understand this as it all sounds to me as my W7 license will expire (?). My pc is a HP one that came with W7 64-bit Home premium pre-installed.

    I will read your link.
