Exclamation Is Chrome the new Firefox & Firefox the new IE6?

I personally, like many, feel that Firefox 3.5 is slow to jump to life, slow to load webpages and suffers from frequent random freezes/crashes.

IE6 (or even IE7) vs FF...I found FF faster.
But IE8 vs FF... I definately feel IE8 is faster.

Will its slow performance, actually help push browsers like, say, Chrome?

    What do you feel?

FF 3.5 Beta & RC used to crash frequently on Windows 7. So now I use FF rarely. Thumbs up to IE 8. IE 8 is the best browser now.

Chrome, Opera are better than FF.

Just Install Alexa Toolbar in FF, & see the speed of anysite.

The only thing that I like in FF, its support WYSIWYG editor. where as Opera & chrome still lacks in WYSIWYG editing.

If Opera support WYSIWYG editor in future then I will love to run Opera & left the fox.

Copy-pasting my comment from Facebook to the same point:

I've been saying since even before chrome came out that chrome is competition to firefox & not IE. Same is the case with Chrome OS, it will compete with Ubuntu & not cause a bloodbath at Redmond.
And here is article I had written when Chrome was released: It's How Microsoft Is Perceived | I'm Just Being Manan

    hi !

    tweakwindows:
"FF 3.5 Beta & RC used to crash frequently on Windows 7. So now I use FF rarely."

thatīs strange, iīve been using almost all beta-versions of 3.5 on W7 for several months, and it have chrashed a few times, but not more often then the official (stable) version.

HappyAndyK: "I personally, like many, feel that Firefox 3.5 is slow to jump to life, slow to load webpages and suffers from frequent random freezes/crashes."

FF 3.5 is faster then 3.0, at least on my PC...

anyway, i got all browsers: FF,Opera and IE8 working fast, i have moved their cache to a ramdisk.

try that if you want to see some speed, itīs really a BIG improvement over having the cache on a harddisk.

Fx since ver. 3 has become nothing less than bloatware, not saying that since this is a MSFT centric forum (free speech anyone?) memory leaks galore! 3 tabs consume more than 500K memory not to mention the spike when you start it & the time it takes to stabilize & before you tell me about plugins, don't bother. Many have refuted tried to solve but only found my MSFT inclination as the reason for Fx's behavior when in fact it is a bloatware. Period.

PS: I was a full time Fx user up until ver. 3 came along and I realized that my previous PC's less RAM wasn't the cause for its freezing but Fx was.

Upto FF3 all was fine - 3.5 ****s real bad. Switched to Chrome. Yeah, Chrome could indeed be the next Firefox. Add a Poll. And you can skin it too now.
