Default Silverlight distribution comes compressed with 7-Zip

I have just discovered, and perhaps you folks might find it interesting as well, that Microsoft has adopted the use of 7-Zip compression in its Silverlight distribution.

The distribution file Silverlight.exe has silverlight.7z file inside of it (you can see that by opening Silverlight.exe with 7-Zip as well), which when unpacked becomes Silverlight.msp file.

Great news for the 7-Zip project, which has already been adopted by Adobe, and now Microsoft!

I wonder if there are persons who still use WinRar or Winzip.

    hi !

after seeing the "compression rates", which is better then even Winrar, i have now installed 7-zip....

thanks estra % leofelix for the information, i didnīt know about the performance of 7-zip, although i have used 7-zip before, i remember running 7-zip on MS-DOS 6 & Enhanced. DR-DOS.

i just checked my old HD, i have an older version of 7-zip there...

If I may ask, since there really is no install, if I moved the program to the Recycle Bin, does that undo all changes I've made? By bringing the program back to the Desktop are all the changes back again?

    Thanks !
