    Default A wordpress theme designed by me

    Hello friends...
    After lots of learning, I finally completed my first wordpress theme design.

    Theme url:
    First FREE wordpress theme from wpyag – usko wpyag.com

    Demo:
    My Blog

    Very nice! Personally, I would like a lighter background, but many like black.

    Tried it on my test blog. It would not display my blog's name (but the description does), and some of the other features do not display well, like my pages at the very top. Likely due to the fact that I have my 'Interests' page as a child under 'About'.
    I notice that my some categories are displayed in the lower nav bar (I would rather have my pages here). Also, your theme's widgets are not appearing in my Dashboard, so would have to go into the code to make changes.....

    Otherwise, I like the layout overall.

    Thank you, I will try to make another with light background.

    Here it is on my test blog. It would not display my blog's name (but the description does),
    "My blog" is actually a image (logo.png). The PSD file of logo is included in theme folder (logo-psd). Just edit the image text.

    some of the other features do not display well, like my pages at the very top. Likely due to the fact that I have my 'Interests' page as a child under 'About'.
    Yes, because you are using 'Interests' page as a child under 'About', the interest page is going down. If you use "Interest page" without any child page, it will align horizontally. In next version, I will add drop down menu feature.

    Else you can do this:
    PHP Code:
    +===================+
    open header.php
    +=====================+

    +===================+
    Find Following in header.php
    +===================+
    <?php wp_list_pages('title_li=&depth=4&sort_column=menu_order'); ?>

    +=========================+
    Replace above code with following
    +=========================+
    <ul id="page-list">
                <li><a href="<?php echo get_settings('home'); ?>">Home</a></li>
                <?php wp_list_pages('title_li='); ?>

    +=======================+
    save and close header.php
    +=======================+

    +=======================+
    Open style.css
    +=======================+

    +============================+
    Find following in style.css
    +============================+
    #navmenu ul {float:left; list-style:none;}
    #navmenu li {display:inline;}
    #navmenu li a { padding:15px 15px 18px 15px; color:#d8d8d8; text-decoration:none; font:bold 12px Helvetica, sans-serif; border-right:1px solid #222;}
    #navmenu li a:hover {background:#111; color:#076cc8;}

    +================================+
    Replace above code  with following code
    +================================+
    ul#page-list {
    margin: 0;
    padding: 0;
    white-space: nowrap;
    float:left;
    width:980px;
    }

    ul#page-list li {
    font-size:10pt;
    display:inline;
    list-style-type: none;
    }

    ul#page-list li a {
    padding-left:0px;
    padding-right:15px;
    padding-top:0px;
    background-image:none;
    display:block;
    color:#000000;
    text-decoration:none;
    float:left;
    font-size:14px;

    }

    ul#page-list li a:link, ul#navlist li a:visited {
    text-decoration: none;
    }

    ul#page-list li a:hover {
    text-decoration:none;
    color:#FFFFFF;

    }

    +=============================+
    save and close style.cs
    +==============================+
    Done.

    I notice that my some categories are displayed in the lower nav bar
    Its because of 'Interests' page as a child under 'About'.

    (I would rather have my pages here).
    You can do like this.
    PHP Code:
    +==========================+
    Open header.php and find following:
    +==========================+
    <li>
    <a title="Home Page" href="index.php">HOME</a></li>
    <?php wp_list_categories('title_li='); ?>

    +==============================+
    Replace the above code with following
    +==============================+
    <?php wp_list_pages('title_li='); ?>
    Also, your theme's widgets are not appearing in my Dashboard, so would have to go into the code to make changes.....
    WindowsTalk Test Blog

    Otherwise, I like the layout overall.
    That may be because you were using child page.

    As James mentioned, you need to change the background.

    Yes, I will make another theme with light background.
    I am doing three projects right now. So, it will take some time to bring next theme.
