SkyDrive - Upload speed is too poor

I have a 256KBps connection today for the first time i used SkyDrive to upload some files (5MB) it took more than 2.5 minutes for me.

I tried it in Gmail = 1 min
Hotmail = 1.5 min

Which is the best secure service to upload your file. Also the one which did not suspend ur acc after certain year of inactivity. As i just wanted to have backup of my files.

I use Syncplicity personal edition free for cloud backups of important files. The free edition is good for 5gb of data. 3gb on install and an extra 2gb for referrals, you can of course always refer yourself if needed.
