    Question A TWC issue (?)

    Hi!

A reader wrote me a mail in which she expressed her problem with TWC.

Tried to download several of the programs mentioned in the newsletter.
All I get is a loop. Click on Download & it takes me to List of
freeware releases from The Windows Club. Click on something from the
list and it takes me back to the page about the program. Just looping.
Also, except for the ads, pics are not showing up on your pages -- which
happens a lot on your site.

I subscribe to The Windows Club newsletter.

I hit the following link from the newsletter:
Microsoft retires Windows Installer Cleanup utility! | The Windows Club

On that page, hit a couple of links from "Popular posts" at the bottom
    of the page.

Create a System Restore Point in 1-click... went as follows:
Create a Restore Point with single click in Windows with Quick Restore Maker | The Windows Club
    took me to
List of freeware releases from The Windows Club | The Windows Club
clicking on the program on the list took me back to
Create a Restore Point with single click in Windows with Quick Restore Maker | The Windows Club

SMART: A Utility for Tweaking... was like this:
Tweak Windows Services with SMART Utility : HomePage | The Windows Club
    went to the "list page"
List of freeware releases from The Windows Club | The Windows Club
clicking on the program desired took me to
Ultimate Windows Tweaker, a TweakUI for Windows 7 & Vista | The Windows Club
ha-ha! thought I was getting somewhere. Alas the link took me back to
    the list again.
List of freeware releases from The Windows Club | The Windows Club

Same thing happened for several other programs I tried clicking on from the "list page."
Now I have tried to reproduce this, but it all works just fine with me.

Is anyone else facing this problem?

Can anyone try this please ?

    Thanks

Working fine for me as well. I will say that 2 other sites I visit have been doing that too me, including Microsoft.com. I have played with it and played with it and it's a browser issue and not the sites themselves.

It works fine here also.... (I thought it may be due to scripts being disabled but it seems to work just fine )

I wonder what browser she is using........

Many thanks for the help & feedback!
Although my scripts are enabled, it does appear to be a browser issue. (How that can be I cannot fathom). Was using Opera 10.54. (Opera just gets worse & worse with every new edition).
Switched to IE8 to check out your feedback & there everything worked fine, no problems!
    Many thanks, again!

I know this is an old post but I had a similar experience trying to download SMART. I see everyone on this thread did not have a problem but I did. The only way that I was able to download SMART was to click on the link in a feedback post. I fail to understand why there could not be a button that simply said Download SMART instead of all kind of download buttons that will download PDF Read or Register Cleaner or free movies software. I guess my disappointment was the only reason for me to download SMART was following a recommendation by Nick Peers in The Official Magazine Windows. Looping around trying to download SMART I got the feeling it was just another Internet SCAM. Might I suggest just a simple download link would work great.
