    Default Graphics Card Suggestion

    I am planning to buy a desktop PC with graphics card. There are lot of options for Graphics Card but I am confused.

    Can anybody suggest a great graphics card which doesn't cause heat problems?

    Depends on what kinda of performance you want. ATi 3450 is a economy card with good performance, nVidia 8800 or 9800 are powerful, if I'm not wrong a friend of mine got the 9800 for 9.5k

    nVidia cards are all DX 10, Ati 48xx & 38xx series are DX 10.1 if I'm correct.

    I just want to take advantage of the Windows Vista features. I am not a gamer. Right now, I'm using a normal TFT monitor but I'm planning to buy a 22'inch widescreen.

    ok u not in gamin eh?? so any direct x 10 card like 8600gt will suffice u it ll come at 3.6k and u can game a low to medium settings if u wish too. But if ur going for a 22" lcd then this card is too weak for it . So suggest u to go for ATI 4850 for 9k odd if ur short of budget go for 9600gt for 6k..

    Don't go for 8600 gt it's quite outdated. 8800gt would do just fine.

    what is your budget??
    If you have good budget go for:
    Asus GeForce 9600GT 512MB DDR3 -> Rs. 9,700.00
    Or:
    Palit 9600GT,512MB DDR3, -> Rs. 6000

    The reason was not so much gaming, but that 8600 is an old card now. 8800 is powerful GPU and relatively new.
