Default How much ram sufficient for Vista ?

I currently have 4.00GB of ram in my PC on Vista 32bit will putting another 1.00GB make any difference. I was told that a 32bit OS wouldn't use any more than 3.00GB. Is that a true statement? JR

Hi JR there was something in the back of my memory and I went to this site which I think will answer your question for you A description of the differences between 32-bit versions of Windows Vista and 64-bit versions of Windows Vista you need to read down the page. It talks about the versions of Vista 32 and 64 so I imagine that would be true of all OS hope this helps

With Vista 32bit, you can only use 3.0 to 3.5 GBs anyhow. Depending on your system, more or less of the upper adress space is taken by all kinds of things (e.g. graphics). See this article that explains it pretty well ( Reader Question: Maximum Memory in 32-bit Windows Vista - Windows Vista help ) - so adding more RAM over and above 4GB makes no sense for 32bit. You then should go to the 64bit version of Vista.

That's good JR. At least when it is cold, you can heat the room - LOL. Now you should get some decent size screens.
