    Just came accross this from Jonathan Kay [MVP] in response to your same problem.

    This is 'by design' and in fact was in earlier versions (although you could turn it off
    before, the registry key which controlled this no longer exists however). Your contact
    however will see the video correctly, so it's just on your side this mirror effect exists.

    For the record, I don't like this either.

    I have the same problem. There is no image orientation option under lifecam 3.0, msn, movie maker and amcap. Now the image is left right inversed. My OS is XP sp3.

    wow really? ok then we'll wait for next version.
    very unsettling and useless idea from ms in this case.

    i really don't get why tho. its not a mirror its a webcam.

    Default LifeCam 3.21 came out,but still no mirror option

    The latest version LifeCam is published, but there is no mirror option neither.
