If you see Error code 12, This device cannot find enough free resources that it can use in your Device Manager, then it means that the device you want to use cannot find enough free resources to operate. The full error message will also include a suggestion to remove or disable one of the other devices on the Windows 10 system.

The resource can be of any type. It could be like when devices are assigned the same I/O ports or same DMA channel or same interrupt.

The best place to resolve this error message is in the BIOS. However, you will need to find the device in question. First go to Device Manager and look for the device in question. You should be able to find it by looking for the unknown device with a yellow exclamation mark.

If there is a resolution available right there, follow that, else you need to get into BIOS and then allocate sufficient resources to that device. For example, if the BIOS has not allocated an interrupt to a USB controller because of invalid multiprocessor specification (MPS) table, you need to change it form the BIOS.

Do note that this needs someone with a clear understanding of what you are trying to change in the BIOS. So when you find the device in question, make sure to search related resolution for that situation.

You may also run the Hardware and Devices Troubleshooter and see if that helps you.
