    Unhappy High security vulnerability threat for IE7 ?

    Description:
    A vulnerability has been discovered in Internet Explorer, which can be exploited by malicious people to compromise a user's system.

    The vulnerability is caused due to an error when processing XML tags and can be exploited to dereference freed memory via a specially crafted HTML document.



    Successful exploitation allows execution of arbitrary code.

    NOTE: Reportedly, the vulnerability is currently being actively exploited.

    The vulnerability is confirmed in Internet Explorer 7 on a fully patched Windows XP SP3. Other versions may also be affected.

    Solution:
    Do not browse untrusted websites or follow untrusted links.

    Sure, its a credible threat and Secunia does issue such advisories very regularly for any vulnerabilities that it discovers in ANY software.

    But I wouldnt worry much. Expect MS / all AVs to patch it up soon.

    im not worried as i never use IE when surfing the net. iam always on FF or opera mode

    so far secunia still say IE is in high alert..dont browse internet in iE till coast is clear lol

    True, MS missed send out a patch for it in the last patch schedule (2 days back) ...

    i just received culmalative security updates..about 4-5 of them..maybe thats patching up security flaws

    ^ No they are not patching this particular flaw These are the one's I was referring to.

    Microsoft has issued an advisory to help users deal with a zero-day flaw affecting Internet Explorer. In an update, Microsoft stated the flaw affects not only Internet Explorer (IE) 7 as originally thought, but also versions 5 and 6.

    you double posted lol, but im safe, i have firewall on, my anti virus and spyware is always on..i always make sure everything is up to date. hmm i better see if any other programs need to run in admin mode
