Exclamation Signs of Spyware Infection !!!

Are you a victim of Spyware? Be safe ... you may be under watch.

If any of the symptoms listed below are the same you came across then your computer may be affected by some spyware or any other unwanted software.

Pop ups popping up all the time: If any pop up ads not related with the website being visited by you bombards which are often of any adult or other website. You may get them at the time you logon or even not browsing web, it seems to be sign of some spyware or unwanted software.

Settings changed and can’t reset: Some time the home page or search page settings are changed and even if way to make them correct is known can’t be done or changes back when system restarts.

Add-ons installed without user knowledge: Additional toolbars are added to the web browser without any need that can’t be removed and even if you managed to remove them you saw them again there after a reboot.

Computer goes slow: The reason behind the computer’s slow performance is the spywares and unwanted software which uses resources in order to track your activities and deliver ads. This may lead to computer crash in case of error in the software.

System might be affected with spyware or other unwanted software if the count of crashes increases or it responds slower than normal.

Excellent list! Now some tips from me intermingled with the symptoms from the original post:

Of course, the first and most important thing is to keep your computer up to date, not just with Microsoft Security Updates, but also the other software on your computer. Couple those steps with a software firewall and up-to-date anti-virus software.

Pop ups popping up all the time: If any pop up ads not related with the website being visited by you bombards which are often of any adult or other website. You may get them at the time you logon or even not browsing web, it seems to be sign of some spyware or unwanted software.
Do not click "Ok", "Cancel", or any other part of the pop-up. Use Ctrl+Alt+Delete to kill the process. See Jesper Johansson's Anatomy of a malware scam • The Register

Don't let this happen to you. Prevent BHO's, Add-on's unwanted Start up entries with my favorite software, WinPatrol (While you're at it, take the Security Garden WinPatrol Challenge

Computer goes slow: The reason behind the computer’s slow performance is the spywares and unwanted software which uses resources in order to track your activities and deliver ads. This may lead to computer crash in case of error in the software.
First step: Clean temp files. ATF Cleaner by Microsoft MVP Atribune is safe to use. ATF Cleaner.

Second step: Run an updated full system scan with a good anti-malware software.

Third step: If the problem is not one you can handle on your own, seek help at a known security forum, following the instructions there for posting your log(s) for review.

I too faced once a spyware I'm well known with this. As you said don't click on any cancel, ok or close button as it may have same code to execute the malware. Thanks for updation.
