hackerman1, with Comodo, be sure to UNcheck the pre-checked HopSurf Toolbar during installation. There is no EULA for the toolbar included during installation but you can find it at both Comodo and HopSurf.

Reading the EULA, I cannot help but be concerned regarding what sort of material is provided by HopSurf that results in the inclusion of the following:
"1.5.The Toolbar and the Services are not intended for use by or availability to persons under the age of 18.IF YOU ARE UNDER 18 YEARS OF AGE, YOU MAY NOT DOWNLOAD, INSTALL OR USE THE TOOLBAR AND YOU MAY NOT ACCESS THE SERVICES."
(Additional information is available at Comodo removed Ask/IAC SafeSurf Toolbar by replacing it with HopSurf/IAC/Ask Toolbar.)

I have been running KIS 2009 on W7 since W7 was available to the public earlier this year.

After doing a "typical" install and changing no settings, I have no leaks and I am totally stealth.

    hi !

    Corinne:
    thanks for the info.
yes, i know that i should UN-check the toolbar, and i HAVE.

i NEVER install something before i have detailed information about it,
i always check with google for references on forums etc.
IF a program gets good comments, then maybe i will install it.

but i didnīt know they had replaced "Ask" with "HopSurf".
they must have released a new version very recently...

yes, the "EULA" looks VERY strange, it really makes you wonder...

    Default Firewall

I also use the free Vista Firewall Control along with built in Firewall. It's an enhancement that controls out-going applications that the built in one does'nt do. I find it very helpful.

I've just done Shield's Up test with my Trend Micro firewall and I'm totally stealth (all green),and one more reason for using Trend Micro is the web browsing protection,it's nice to know if the web page is healthy or infected in advance.Trend Micro will not allow you to visit infected pages and supports Mozilla and IE.

I use Vista firewall on a laptop Sony Vaio FZ11Z, because my father is not an expert about.

Depends much by user to user.

Me too, I've used Outpost and Zone Alarm but 7's firewall always worked seamlessly so on the last machine I built I finally decided to rely entirely on it.
