I was using Avast Pro 4.8. In the last month both my bank a/c and credit card have been compromised, so out of curiousity I removed Avast and re-installed Outpost Security Suite 2009. This found two keyloggers on my PC - Mmmm!

Used to be a Kaspersky & ESET user, but eversince i tried out Norton 2009, have not looked back at any of them! Norton have come back with a bang, and the bang has hurt all the other AVs.

To all the Norton Hates, i was one too. But do give Norton 2009 AV a try. It is brilliant and everything Norton was not before 2009.

I absolutely agree. I was very surprised too. It is not at all your grandfathers Norton. It really rocks. What I like especially is the scans during idle time - no more interference. I run Kaspersky on another system. That gives me more problems.

Even i was using Kaspersky before Norton. But started giving me quite a lot of errors and problems for my liking. It was time to try out something new.

I had read about Norton 2009 on the net, and they have been publishing full page advertisements in the local magazines in India about their completely revamped 2009 range of products.

Am glad i tried it out. The program goes into Silent Mode if you are busy with something or have any full screen program active. And as posted by whs, the idle time scans start 10 minutes from your last use of the system. So while watching a movie, the AV goes into silent mode, completes a system scan in background which you don't even come to know of, and will only notify you after you return to your desktop if any security issues were detected or blocked. Otherwise, it won't even inform you that a scan was completed in the background!

    Full 5 / 5 for Norton 2009.

Just try out Norton AV 09 once if you have also been smart and not using Norton for the past 4 years
