Angry 7 attemted intrusions in 60 seconds

I have been under attack from "Nmap Xmas Scan" this afternoon.
7 attempts in 60 seconds and it is still going on now. Should I be worried about this at all??

    Information:

    Attacking Computer 98.193.57.165,58711

Sounds like you security setup is keeping them at bay?

I cannot remember, what are you using?

EDIT: You have used the ShieldsUp scan at GRC haven't you? I wonder how they found you if your stealth?

Sorry. I posted a link to a tool that scans your computer to see if it is visible to bad guys on the internet. I thought you were one of our members that reported back to be invisible "stealth".

JR are you on ASDL because if you are then your IP address should be changing all the time? If you have done a full run of tests, and you've not picked up on anything you may have to disconnect and and that should re-set your IP address. If that fails

    @ JR
    take a look here please

    http://whois.domaintools.com/98.193.57.165

I suppose your were downloading via torrent or other P2P, weren't you?

First check your system with SUPERAntiSpyware free, please
Second: if your system is clean do not worry, however Norton Internet Security is protecting you

    Very informative thanks leo. JR

I was updating football manager patch 1.5 From the in game menu and it directed me to download via p2p so I had to install a program called a Bit torrent first.

The info file said it meant downloading the patch would be faster but it didn't say anything about intrusion attempts. Do you think that is what it was and should I inform the creators of the game?

    johnny.rotton:
    there is almost no problem.
some lamers (or an infected PC) attempted to port scan your O.S via 58711 port (which Bit torrent needs open in order to allow communication) searching for a weak personal firewall and/or an infected system.
Their target is not you, they generally scan randomly.

I can only suggest not to use Bit Torrent (or P2P programs) or at least to use them only when you absolutely need them.
I do not think is necessary to inform the creators of the game, I hope they are aware of this problem.

    Hope this can help
