    Default Update Manager

Hi I have Installshield Update Manager in my Control Panel, what puzzles me is I did not install it, it has been there for a few months it wanted to check for updates. I haven't used it i prevented it from running only because I didn't put it there in the first place. I looked up info on it sure i read it will atomaticaly download if you install some programs. Has any body here used installshield? I still have it just disabled it for the moment.

I personally do not like 3rd party update managers and just use Windows update apart from checking manually the programms and applications that I have, if Windows hasn't picked them up. The choice is yours, but if you don't want it just uninstall it.

One of your third party apps installed it and uses it to update itself. Several other apps will use it as well after it is installed. I just disable it so it does not run at startup.
