I had one friend comment on my blog that while he is in the US (and his browser says he is), he's getting the message saying 'Not available in your country or region"!

Well I uninstalled KIS and installed this.

It passed the GRC ShieldsUp test. 100% Stealth.

    https://www.grc.com/x/ne.dll?bh0bkyd2

But the firewall did not pass the GRC Leak Test. KIS Does.

    hi !

my apologies for a short OT-question: what about KIS & CLT ( Comodos Leaktest) ?

    how good ?

i´m running Avira, do i really have to UNINSTALL it to be able to install MSE ?

would it not be enough just to DISABLE all it´s autostarting exe-files with "Services" ?

^ Yes you can disable all its startups and its services and then you should be able to install MSE.

I once as an experiment had 5 AV running on my PC. Norton spoiled the party.

@ roraniel: MSE is an antivirus plus antispyware. So when you uninstalled KIS you enabled Windows built in firewall again which cannot pass any leak test.
    I assume you're under a router/NAT, that's why your ports are 100% stealth.
I would suggest you to install Agnitum OutPost 200 free

@ Hackerman1: you should uninstall Avira before installing MSE

    hi !

    HappyAndyK: THANKS !

that saves time, i really don´t like the idea of reinstalling Avira, if i don´t like MSE...

btw. "5 AV´s": i have read on some other forums about people having multiple AV´s, you just have to configure them properly.

leofelix: you posted while i was typing...

yes i know about the "general recommendation": only ONE Antivirus.

but if i disable Avira´s autostarting files, that should be enough because then it´s not running....

    Ps.

glad you appreciated my little joke: "tomorro"

    Ds.

I have disabled NOD32 and installed MSE also.

There are reports on LiveSide that folks from UK and Germany could download it from the MS site.

But since the download is available from Softpedia for all now, wonder what MS was planning to achieve by restricting the no of downloads and the no of countries ...

I'm from Russia and I had no trouble registering at Microsoft Connect and downloading the MSE.
