Default 5 minutes for every mouse click. every app 'not responding' WHY?

Hi guys, I really hope you can help.

My Gateway DX4800-05e, running Vista Home premium is acting really weird.
    Pentium(R) Dual Core CPU ES200 @2.50GHz
    6.00 GB RAM
    NVIDIA GeForce 9200

The computer starts up fine, doesn't take long at all (50 seconds from a full power down), Every application takes so long it becomes (Not Responding). And then every click doesn't respond. It's not the same as a normal lag, I've played video games that I can't really handle and it lags a little, but this is different.

This doesn't happen right away either.

So i start up, all fine, a couple of things pop up like the control panel, I x out of them and it runs fine. I hit the Start button, that works fine, but if I hover over a button or god forbid click on one, the computer takes forever. It doesn't freeze, the mouse still moves, i can still select other items on the desktop etc, but if I click on anything it takes an age. I'm talking 5-15 minutes to start a program, and then the program wont operate because anything it tries just takes too long and it goes to (Not Responding)

I just played a song in iTunes after it took 10 minutes to load. It stopped after a few seconds, continued, stopped, that happens consistently.

Yesterday morning all was fine. Then out of nowhere the computer powered down. I thought there had been a fuse switched, or a brief power outage or something.

I tried a system restore to a few days ago, no change. I tried to run the memory diagnostic three times, the computer shuts down at about 50% - same as the shut down yesterday - just like the plug is being pulled.

I don't know what it could be. This computer isn't even online, not for months.

here's my Log (I've deleted the section with the URLs because i am 'currently not allowed to post URLs')

Hi alexbutter and welcome to TheWindowsClub forum,
I think your main problem is

    C:\ProgramData\Partner\partner.dll

Please download MalwareBytes' Antimalware free to your desktop

Malwarebytes Anti-Malware - Reviews and free Malwarebytes Anti-Malware downloads at Download.com

Install it and update it, then run a full scan.
Post MalwareBytes' AntiMalware log in your reply, please

You should also download ATF Cleaner to your destkop

    |MG| ATF Cleaner 3.0.0.2 Download

Run it and clean all temp and junk files.

do note: you haven't installed Service Pack 2 for Vista yet

    You're welcome,
You'd better to install SP 2 via WindowsUpDate, however you may download SP2 Vista 64 bit from

Download details: Windows Server 2008 Service Pack 2 and Windows Vista Service Pack 2 - ALL Language Standalone for x64-based Systems (KB948465)

    Then install off line.

You do not use an antivirus, I would suggest you to install Avira free or Microsoft Security Essential free (64 bit version) or Avast home 4.8 free, after cleaning your system

In regards to partner.dll it could be a legitimate file

partner.dll - Can you trust this file? OASIS

However I'd like to see your SuperAntispyware and MalwareBytes' Antimalware log when possible.

    ------
Your computer has too many programs starting with Windows, please download to your desktop StartUpLite

    http://www.malwarebytes.org/startuplite.php

StartUpLite is a lightweight and simple to use application that allows you to speed up your system startup, safely and efficiently. The program allows you to disable or remove unnecessary startup entries from your computer. By using StartUpLite, you can dramatically help shorten your startup time with only a few clicks of the mouse.
Usage: Double click StartUpLite.exe. Select all options you would like executed and select continue (disable unnecessary startup entries)

    ----------

Now download ATF Cleaner to your desktop

    http://majorgeeks.com/ATF_Cleaner_d4949.html

    • Double-click ATF-Cleaner.exe to run the program.
      Under Main choose: Select All
      Click the Empty Selected button.

    If you use Firefox browser
    • Click Firefox at the top and choose: Select All
      Click the Empty Selected button.
NOTE: If you would like to keep your saved passwords, please click No at the prompt.

    If you use Opera browser
    • Click Opera at the top and choose: Select All
      Click the Empty Selected button.
NOTE: If you would like to keep your saved passwords, please click No at the prompt.

Click Exit on the Main menu to close the program.
This will remove all files from the items that are checked so if you have some cookies you'd like to save. please move them to a different directory first.

    ---------

You should also consider to defrag your HDD

    -------------------

Moreover you must update as soon as possible Adober Reader to 9.2 version
