Default Immunet : Free cloud-based antivirus

With this cloud-based antivirus Immunet, there's no downloading. The Windows-based desktop agent about 4MB, queries the Immunet cloud. All the knowledge base is in the cloud, and it can grow indefinitely. It also lets Immunet remediate false positives immediately. Immunet operates like a standard A/V product except we're a tenth of the usual size.

    Anyone aware of it?

Never heard of this one before. I do like their website, very clean and simple. I am installing now. I am most interested to see how a cloud based A/V will work on the same PC running a conventional A/V suite. If there are any conflicts or problems I will post them here.

    Nice find Andy. Thanks.

NB. This is a beta version so be careful if you are going to install this on your main PC.

Update: So far so good, no complications, it's a tiny install and you don't notice it at all. Lets see if it keeps the bad guys out.

I'm currently running Sunbelt's VIPRE 4 Premium: AntiVirus, Antimalware + Firewall alongside Malwarebytes AntiMalware full version with active scanning and last but not least Bill P's awesome WinPatrol Plus.

It says it is a "Companion AV". Tested to be compatible with the following AV programs.

    Officially Supported Anti-Virus Packages
The following anti-virus packages have been tested to work alongside the Immunet Protect beta version. Users should be able to install Immunet Protect alongside each of these packages and significantly increase their ability to detect viruses. In this case, "supported" means that Immunet will test these products in the QA environment and qualify that they co-install properly and work in tandem during normal operations without any obvious interference or resource drag. Supported products will get priority in the QA test/fix cycles and will get priority attention from Immunet Staff on the Community Forum.

What about running this cloud AV along with Panda Cloud Anti-virus, as everyhtng from cloud these cloud AVs useless for offline PCs.

The company says: This may be so with the Free product but not with the Plus product. The Plus product has a full traditional detection engine in addition to the cloud engine. As a result it will achieve the same detection efficacy that you would see with today’s market leaders.
