Default Windows 7 Action Center would not turn on.

Don't know if it was just a glitch or what but I thought being it is April Fools Day I would pass this along.

This morning my wifes PC had rebooted and the Windows 7 Action Center said it was not on and it would not turn on when clicked to do so.

The first think I did was try to run a Malwarebytes scan and that would not open. Here is the series of steps taken:

    1. System Restore to two days prior
    2. Windows Update
    3. While uninstalling Malwarebytes the built in uninstaller would not open but I was using Revo Uninstaller and got it off the machine.
    4. Registry scan using CCleaner and only found a few unused extension.
    5. Reinstalled Malwarebytes and did full system scan.
    6. Did full MSE scan.

No issues were fournd and everything appears to be functioning but I do have several days of Acronis images if problems persist.

Anyone else have any issues with Action center or protection programs today?

    Default

Open services.msc and check if Security Center service is started and set to Automatic.

Then set your desired settings via: Control Panel\System and Security\Action Center\Change Action Center settings

Also just open regedit and navigate to:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Servic es\wscsvc
Is the Start value '2'. It should be so.

What is WSE scan btw? Or did you mean MSE.

Also run system file checker 'sfc /scannow' and see if it helps.

    Hope something does

    I did mean MSE.

Security Center was started and set to automatic.

After the steps I detailed everything appears to be good.
