Default How do I remove or stop 'Advertisement Service'?

Hi everyone, a bit of help is needed!

When I go to my Add or Remove Programs list it shows a program called 'Advertisement Service'. When I click the remove button it tells me that it is already uninstalled and says 'Would you like to remove Advertisement Services from your Add or Remove Programs List?'. Since I haven't uninstalled the program I'm not clicking yes!

Has anyone had this before? How can I remove it from my PC? How can I stop getting it again? And could this be why I get ads that show things I've looked at on shopping websites?

I use Google Chrome and Windows XP Home Edition, if this makes any difference!

    Thanks in advance,

    Sarah

(P.S. hope I've put this in the right forum!)

Since its saying Already uninstalled it may be uninstalled so just click on remove from list.

or if you have any doubts than try Revo Uninstaller for uninstalling

    It could be Adware.

Go ahead and click 'Yes' to remove it.

It might also be a good idea to run a freeware anti-malware like a-squared or malwarebytes.

Revo Uninstaller may work but you may need the pro version to do use the forceful uninstall option. It has a 30 day free trial.

I would also run several spyware/malware scanners like SpyBot Search and Destroy, Malwarebytes, and Ad-Aware. It may take more than one to find it.

    Hi, Sarah.

The uninstaller program will not work for this trojan and should not be used. However the major antivirus software programs have it in detection.

If you are still having problems, please do the following:

    • Download random's system information tool (RSIT) by random/random from here and save it to your desktop.
    • Double click on RSIT.exe to run RSIT.
    • Click Continue at the disclaimer screen.
    • Once it has finished, two logs will open. Please post the contents of both log.txt (<<will be maximized) and info.txt (<<will be minimized)
