    Default MSE Definitions

Hi.. My Windows update always has optional update for Definitions, it should be important, I have it set for auto update which it does, always comes back as optional update I have Windows 7 using MSE, I have to install manualy, PC is new
How do i set it to Important update, & I did health check all good, but security is telling me it can't reconize virus protection which is running installed

    Anybody has the same issue?
I did come across other Window 7 users with same issue!! Strange
    besides this PC is fine

MSE will download and update itself. You are just seeing it in Windows Update before MSE actually does it automatically.

Don't forget, a new update will appear everyday so don't be alramed if you see it again.

It will install by itself. If you want to change what time it installs open MSE and click on settings. makes sure the box is checked for "Check for the latest virus and spyware definitions before running a scheduled scan" then change the time the scan happens. MSE will install the definition update from Windows Update at that time.

OK I know what your saying, what ever time I have it set or anyone else, it does not mean I"m on PC at that
time for Windows to install updates, I have to sleep sometimes LOL!!!!! & do other things besides being on PC.

Windows does Auto check for updates, but does not install..... I do it manully, no issues as long all gets installed )))))))))))))))

MSE uses the Windows Update infrastructure for definition updates. While basic services are running, no matter how you configure automatic updates. MSE check once a day for updates and installs the necessary adjustments.
