Default Windows defender automatically turned on by an update ?

    Hi !

Today i noticed that Windows Defender was on.
Even though i have 2 (TWO) antimalware-programs running with realtime-protection on....
    I´m using WS2008-R2, not W8.

I suspect it was automatically turned on by an update a few days ago.
And the GUI looks (almost) like MSE...

Does anyone know which update is causing this ?
I only update manually, checking each update before downloading and installing them, and i have not seen any information about Windows Defender being updated and activated.

Have anyone else noticed the same ?

Open Control Panel→ Windows Defender and check your setttings !

You might have Windows Defender on without knowing it....

First time a heard a case where Windows defender was automatically turned ON.

No its is turned off in my case, still. When I clicked on the Windows defender icon I received the following message:

This app has been turned off and isnt monitoring your computer.

Disable and see if it is re-enabled again automatically.

    Thank you Andy.

Yes, i know it´s weird, it´s usually the opposite with Defender being turned off.
I restored a systembackup a few days ago, removed SCEP and upgraded EAM to a new version.
Something might have happened during that upgrade, athough it shouldn´t.
I´ve restored that backup to another partition, so i´m going to repeat the whole procedure just to see exactly what happens and when Defender is activated.

Problem solved: Defender activates when uninstalling EAM.
So this was not caused by an update.
