Default Windows Defender won't stay ON

I recently uninstalled 360 Security Suite. When I restarted Windows 10 (PRO 64) Windows Defender was turned OFF.

I restarted, but in just a few seconds it turned itself OFF again. Despite mulitple attempts, I cannot get Defender to stay ON. Anyone have any ideas?

Any chance that another anti-virus / anti-malware program exists on this computer? I ask even though opening post is dated May 2018 -- others might want to explore this situation as well.

I think the 360 software may not have uninstalled properly.

    TRy these suggestions:

This happened to me before. I fixed it by restarting the Windows Defender service.

Do you have another antivirus? Win10 is hard coded to turn Defender on unless you install another AV (doesn't matter which one, paid or free).

Reinstall and uninstall the 360 suite. Restart your PC and check if there are any files remaining from the program. From the Start Menu, select Computer, Local Disk (C, and then Program Files. Locate the “360” folder and delete it (if it exists).
