Default Activating the new splash screen in Vista.

When Windows Vista starts, the loading screen is displayed similar to Windows XP. You can choose to view another screen, more colorful.

    1. Click the Start button.

    2. In the search field, type the command msconfig and press Enter.

    3. Click the Continue button of the window User Account Control that appears.

    4. Then open the Start tab of the System Configuration window.

    5. In the Boot Options section, check Do not start the graphical user interface.

    6. Finally, click the OK button. The result will be visible from the next reboot.

    Source.

Not only does Vista have this Hidden Aurora Boot-Screen, there is also a hidden Aurora animation.

To see the magic just type "winsat aurora" in the start menu search box, and hit Enter.
