    Default How to pin Safely remove hardware, to quick launch ?

    hi !



    is it possible to pin "safely remove hardware" (in systray) to quick launch / make a shortcut on desktop ?

    whatīs the filename ?

    Right click on the Vista Start globe, select Properties. Click on Notification tab and change Safely remove hardware to "Show". By default it is set to "hide when inactive"

    Found this for you I don't know if it will work it has if you read through how you can do what you asked, but I'm not sure if it is for vista ok I have just tried this and it does work if you follow the steps exactly so you should be sorted as far making a desk top short cut. Couldn't find the other part for

    seti, may I add that you have to check the little box in front of "Display Device Components" (in the Safely Remove window) - else you have no clue what the USB mass storage devices are and may remove the wrong one.

    Don't mind you adding that I just tried the short cut to see if worked, but the clearer the information the better understood it is. So thanks for adding it

    Rt click on desktop > New > Shortcut > Copy-paste in the box:

    rundll32 shell32.dll,Control_RunDLL hotplug.dll

    Name it something. Give it a suitable icon. Drag it to your quick-launch.

    Its here : Safely Remove Hardware dialog box does not appear in Vista
