Default Tip: Print to PDF with doPDF before emailing business documents

I consult with a lot of companies on their Program Management processes and procedures.

One item I always address is the emailing of documents. I advise that everyone should get into the habit of converting documents to PDF before emailing so they cannot be easily modified, especially excel spreadsheets that have formula's and hidden cells.

Imagine sending a client your quote in excel and they go in and see your formula's that show your intended profit margin. Don't roll your eyes, it happens in business everyday!

An easy, fast, and cost effective way to do this is to use a simple "print to pdf" utility. I recommend doPDF just because I have experience with it and I know it does the job.

I use doPDF. Works great. But there is also a add-on for Office 2007 that allows to file documents directly as .pdf (Download details: 2007 Microsoft Office Add-in: Microsoft Save as PDF ).

Thanks for the info about dopdf. Also, save as PDF add-on for Office 2007 is very handy.

I use PDF Creator PDFCreator | pdfforge.org - it is basic but works - will look at doPDF too.

I have had non PDF documents mailed to me, and others on a wide distribution list, with a scanned signature attached. The problem I see with this is the signature can be lifted from that document and used else where, apart from editing the document in a text editor.
