Default Disable PC Speaker / Beep

Many users find the PC Speaker / Beep very annoying and want to disable it. So, here is the tutorial to do it:

    1. Right-click on My Computer and select Device Manager.

    2. Click on View->Show hidden devices.

    3. Click on the + sign before Non-Plug and Play devices.

    4. Right-click on Beep and select Disable.

    5. Click on Yes.

    6. Click on Yes again.

That’s it. Now your computer will automatically reboot and the PC Speaker / Beep will be disabled.

This is a good idea and thanks for the info but please be aware that the pc speaker is used not just to beep once at start up.

A single beep at start up is to confirm all settings are ok. If however the PC does develop a fault the beep will change and depending on the motherboard each different set of beeps helps you discover what the problem is.

I would personally recommend you only turn this off if you are confident you will never need it.

    Nice tip.

I like complete peace, hence shut off Windows sounds too; in fact many a times, my speaker itself is off.
