Default How to check whether Windows is activated.

How to check whether Windows 8 / 7 / Vista is activated?

In Windows XP, you could do the following:

    Go to Start, Run.
    Type: oobe/msoobe /a
    Click OK.

If your Windows is activated it will say so.

Tell me whether this works with VISTA and WINDOWS 7 / 8 too..

In Windows 7 / 8, the Setup Windows dialog box opens.

In Windows 7 / 8, you can click Start > Rt click Computer > Properties to check Windows activation status.

You can also view Licensing Status and Activation ID of your Windows OS with slmgr.vbs.

In Vista just go the Welcome Centre - System and it will not only tell you if tyour product is activated, but also if it is genuine as well.

Off topic is anyone here still using XP?

Sorry to hear that. have you tried the compatability guide? You may be supprised how close your present system is. I believe that any system that can run Vista can run Windows 7
