    I use to use scripts like this back with Windows Me. Wrote several that not only had audio but used the Agents to interact with a user once they logged in. Freaked out many a folk with those scripts, especially if I knew they were coming over to borrow the computer

    Hi Akhilesh,

    I wonder if you have seen the first post by Matrix. It clearly credits SnapHow.com. It appears that SnapHow.com is now crediting you as the original source with an 'Imp Update' at the end of the post, but that's a different story. Since Matrix has credited the source from where he saw it, I think it should be fine

    Incidentally, it has been bought to my notice that a similar article How to make your computer talk/speak what you type was posted way back in 2008 by some other blog too ...

    Default Try this...

    Here is a way to do what you are wanting. Copy the code listed in green below. Then open notepad and paste (change the name "Bill" to whatever you want)... After you are done, save the file. Then change the file extension to .vbs and place it in the startup menu. You can play around with the code to say what you want....

    Dim msg, greeter
    Dim masterName
    Dim currentHour

    masterName = "Bill"
    currentHour = Hour(Now())
    currentWeekday = Weekday(Now())

    If currentHour = 0 And currentHour < 6 Then

    msg = "Have you slept already master " + masterName + "?"
    ElseIf currentHour >= 6 And currentHour < 12 Then

    If currentWeekday >= 2 And currentWeekday <= 6 Then

    msg = "Good morning master " + masterName + "! We need to work now!"

    Else

    msg = "Good morning master " + masterName + ". It's the weekend! Dont use me for programming!"

    End If
    ElseIf currentHour >= 12 And currentHour <= 17 Then

    msg = "A very good afternoon to you, master " + masterName
    ElseIf currentHour > 17 Then

    msg = "Good evening to you, master " + masterName + ". Shall we play a game?"
    End If

    Set greeter = CreateObject("sapi.spvoice")
    greeter.Speak msg
